The Wewiora Projects was established by Helen and Elizabeth Wewiora and is currently programmed and produced by Elizabeth Wewiora, Charlie Booth and associate curators including Emma Flynn.
Elizabeth has a background in fine art and still continues as a practicing artist, dipping in and out of curating and engagement projects including the current creative producer role at Open Eye Gallery (Liverpool), whilst Charlie with a background in art history currently works as part-time programme coordinator at Redeye Photography Network. Original member and co-founder Helen has a background in art history, critical writing and curating and is now the Director at Castlefield Gallery in Manchester.
Wewioraprojects was set up to explore and deliver art projects that put audiences and their engagement at the heart of programming, take art outside of the art environment into nomad spaces, and work with the best of creative contemporary talent, across the North of England and nationally.
Believing in strength in numbers, Wewiora Projects actively seeks for new partners and collaborators for developing projects and with these new collaborations hope to widen the depth and breadth of experiences of artist and public audiences alike.
